Blackhorse Lane

Mains renewal to improve capacity and resilience in the local supply area

Project Updates

6 March 2026

Works to install the new water main along Blackhorse Lane are now nearing completion.

Testing of the new pipe has been successfully completed and our teams are now carrying out the final stage of the project – connecting the new main to the existing network.

Due to engineering challenges encountered during the work, the road closure will now remain in place until 8 March.

Once the final connection has been completed and the new main is fully operational, the older section of pipe will be taken out of service and the road will be reinstated.

We appreciate your patience while we complete the final stages of the work safely.

Blackhorse Lane – mains renewal

The Blackhorse Lane works form part of SES Water’s ongoing network upgrade programme to improve capacity and resilience in the local supply area.

We will be installing 871 metres of new water main along Blackhorse Lane under a full road closure.

While there are no property connections to the new water main expected along the route, there will be impacts to the water supply when the new pipe is connected to the existing network.

When the upgrade is complete, the older section of the main will be taken out of service.

If you have any questions, please contact your SES Water Customer Liaison Officer, Tracey Buckland, who will be happy to help on 07368 504785 between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays).
